About Alexandre and Viver a Viagem
My parents work for the government – a traditional lifelong job in Brazil – and experienced parenthood early in life. For both work has been always related to discipline and commitment to lifelong jobs.
However, I always knew I didn’t fit standards.
I remember myself as a little kid at the living room staring at the fascinating travel pictures in National Geographic magazine. At the time, my favourite movie was Indiana Jones and – gosh! – I really wanted to be just like him and get to know the world.
Then I grew up and felt in love with books and learning languages. My bookcase was filled with travel guides, history, ancient peoples, maps and dictionaries.
I ended up graduating in International Relations and worked in the field for five years. Each year I picked a destination to travel and photograph. Once back, I felt empty and unhappy to be back at the office. The world was calling me, I was stuck to my fears and to the paperwork. I knew something was about to change…
Then, I decided break through
One day I said “that’s enough!” and quit my job. I moved to Sao Paulo to live as a photographer. At the time, I realised how many stories and photographs I have had collected so far and decided to share them all through a travel website. That was when Viver a Viagem came to life.
Viver a Viagem invites you to be part of this experience. Come travel with me!
The site gathers content into five categories to better promote an immersive experience.
Plan and Travel: learn everything you need to get you travel off the drawing board; how to save up for travel, how to get visas and much more related content;
Gastronomy: many times we fall in love with a culture through the food. Here you may find tips on restaurant, street markets, and much more;
Photography: get to know what gear is best for you, hone your photography skills and learn how to take better travel pictures;

Destinations: cultural and destination posts sorted by country: Brazil, Iceland, Japan, Morocco and South Korea.
I travel because the world is calling me. I travel because it fulfils me and makes me happy. I travel to learn and teach. I travel because it is my nature.
I want to inspire everyone to travel.
